Moisture Content

The standard method for determining the moisture content of soil is the Oven Drying Method which is recommended for a Geotechnical Laboratory. ELE offer a range of soil drying Ovens and Balances to meet various International Standards.

Rapid methods of moisture content determination of both soil and aggregates can be obtained quickly and accurately using the Speedy Moisture Tester.

The Moisture Tester indicates moisture content by measuring the pressure increase inside a chamber in which calcium carbide powder reacts with the sample moisture to produce a gas pressure which is indicated on a pressure gauge as a % moisture content of the sample.
